mccombs school of business honors program, masters in professional accounting

Sarah, also known as Smock due to an unfortunate abundance of Sarahs on the executive board, is a fourth-year student in the McCombs Business Honors Program and integrated Master in Professional Accounting program. She hails from Fort Worth, Texas, where she escaped a purple haze of TCU obsession to follow in her father and sister’s footsteps here at UT. Outside of Student Government, Sarah spends her time experimenting with recipes, particularly those involving vegetables, volunteering with the Girl’s Empowerment Network, and spending time with her friends, family, and her guinea pig, Teddy Roosevelt. In the past, she served on the executive board of Steps for Survivors to raise funds for UT students undergoing domestic or sexual abuse, volunteered with Students Expanding Austin Literacy (SEAL), and attended meetings for the Honors Business Association. Her favorite Austin restaurant is Eastside Café; conveniently located five minutes from campus and across the street from Thunderbird Coffee House, Eastside Café is the perfect place to escape the pressures of school and trade typical college-student fare for a real, wholesome, adult meal. If you want to know more about the harrowing life of an accounting student, guinea pig parenthood, or how to survive off of minimal sleep and maximum caffeine, ask Sarah!
